In today’s
fast-paced world, mental health challenges don’t disappear with age. Adult
children still face pressures and struggles that can impact their well-being.
Your continued love and presence, especially when life gets hard, can be a
lifeline.
Now, as I
prepare to embrace the role of grandmother, I’ve come to cherish the deeper
meaning of being both a mother and a mentor. This season of life reminds me
that parenting doesn't stop; it simply evolves. To my daughter: I will always
be the parent you need and deserve. There may be moments when my words come
across strongly, but please know they are rooted in love.
I speak
from a place of faith in who you are and who you are becoming. I see the
incredible mother within you, even on the days you doubt yourself. And always
remember you are never alone. You have God walking with you and a circle of
support that surrounds you.
“The
greatest gift you can give your child is the space to grow, the support to
heal, and the freedom to be themselves even when the path isn’t perfect.”
Parenting
grown children means listening with compassion, guiding with humility, and
always keeping their mental and emotional health in focus. It’s about
recognizing the silent battles they might be fighting and choosing to love them
fiercely through it all.
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV):
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I
will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Just as God
upholds us, we are called to uphold one another especially within our families.
Let’s continue to bring awareness to mental health at every stage of life.
Let’s show up with grace, stand firm in love, and never stop being the parent
our children need.
